Houston Zoo here we come! So today was a fun day at the zoo with friends. I was a little nervous at first seeing as how it would be my first trip to the zoo with all 3 kids and Bryce is so anti-stroller these days, I was preparing for the worst. Much to my surprise however, all 3 kids did great. Was there stress? Of course. But I'd be a fool to think we could go a whole day without a little bit of stress or drama.
We first started at the aquarium where our favorite thing to see was the eel! It was so pretty in a creepy kind of way.
After that we headed over to the sea otter tank which is always fun. We didn't get to see the show today but just to see them swim around and jump on the sundeck is quite entertaining. Bryce really liked watching them and kept saying "wow! mama look!" Skylar was more concerned with making sure to keep up with one of her closest buddies nicknamed "Koko." In most social circles of ours she is the oldest by a couple of years so she plays babysitter to a lot of the younger ones...her choice. So whenever she can get around a kid older then she, its heaven to her.
We also had a lot of fun feeding the giraffes, seeing Rhino's and monkey's, having lunch, and playing chase. I'm so happy my kids have such a great network of friends and love to see my kids play! Little Eva did well too and slept pretty much the entire trip in her little cave...basically her carseat enclosed in the stroller. There were a lot of favorites from the day such as Skylar walking hand in hand with the boys, or Brycen's excitement upon feeding the giraffes but my favorite was when we got in the car - Skylar said very sweetly, "thank you so much mama for bringing us here. It was SO fun." My heart melted and then I heard "now can we get some hip-hops (cupcake pops)?" Sigh. Some more pics of our fun day...
Other memorable moments -
In the bathroom they had these cute posters with some zoo humor and my favorite was: What happens when 2 giraffes collide? .....A giraffic jam! I don't know why but I snorted laughing at this. Doesn't take much to make me giggle I guess. And the other was hearing "Koko" go through and let each of us know where every animal was from by reading the sign out front...he saw the Komodo Dragon and came running to his mom to let her know that they are from New Jersey! I died.
Another good day for my little family...
