Today was a pretty fun day. We woke up bright and early (as usual) and since Eva seemed to be feeling SO much better, we headed to bootcamp. It was at the mall today because The Woodlands is getting ready for their annual CB&I Tri so we wanted to stay out of their way. Now normally, I loathe going to the mall with the kids because it's so hard to keep Bryce happy in the stroller but he did pretty good. I ended up letting him out towards the end but in all honesty it was because my quads needed a break. Says something when it's easier chasing down an active 3 year old then participating in bootcamp. After we were done, we were supposed to meet friends at Pump It Up but I just couldn't see putting the kids back into carseats after they were so patient with me for the past hour. Plus, Eva was starving and beginning to cuss me soooo...we stayed at the mall. After a quick stop by James Avery for my early mom's day present, it was off to the germ-tree! And yes, I picked and purchased my own gift but it doesn't mean it didn't come from him. I've been telling him since Skylar was little how I'd love to have a gold band to wear as my everyday wedding ring because my other gets caught on things, or scratches the baby - and is just annoying. And he's been telling me to go and purchase something that I like. I just couldn't decide what I wanted and ultimately went with the exact same wedding band he has but the thinner version...
So happy moms day to me!! This will be so much easier to wear around all of the time with the kiddos. Funny how things change when you have kids, right? So after playing at the germ tree, we headed for home. Now, I wasn't going to take Skylar to her Field Day today because she already seemed groggy and the night before wasn't feeling great but she was such a good girl for me today and I know they had a lot of cool stuff planned for them, so we went. Thankfully, Papa came to my rescue and watched Bryce so I wouldn't have to worry about chasing him around everywhere. I'm so glad we went too because she had such a blast.
This is one of her buddies and their theme was "Cooper's Troopers." They did everything from long jump to soccer, baseball to running sprints, and so on. They even had a cute little chant that won them first place for "best team spirit." I love this girl.
When we left, she was so tired! I should've known to take her home then but we had to go and pick up Bryce first. After we got him loaded up and said our "bye's" to Papa, it was obvious that Bryce was full of energy so instead of going home, we met daddy and Target by his office. So if you're following along you know that we left the house around 9 this morning for bootcamp and have still not been home. I don't think it's really necessary to paint the scene at Target as I'm sure you can imagine what that looked like with 3 very fussy, very tired kids and one husband who was recovering from afternoon adult beverages with the guys at work. It was chaos. We survived just barely and got the kiddos home, fed, and bathed. Bryce went to bed right away while Skylar fought it. I was okay with it though since she asked "mama, is it okay for me to rub your feet?" Um yes, yes it is...
It was a very busy but very fun Friday!!
