...sick kids means all work and no play for mama.
Sunday:
Happy Cinco De Mayo! We were scheduled to go to a birthday party today for one of our little friends but there was no way we could make it with our sick crew. Everyone seemed to take a turn for the worse and even Matthew said "please make sure they're at the doctor tomorrow." Normally he's a "let's just wait and see" kind of guy but they all sound so bad. Skylar spent the night with her grandparents last night and since Bryce was just so miserable, we took him on a car ride, went through the car wash (a favorite of his), and over to Papa's house to get Skylar. We stayed and visited for a bit which Bryce just loved because he adores his Papa and Skylar was definitely not ready to leave her Nana. Once we left it was time to feed the kiddos and put them down for a nap. Thankfully, Skylar seemed to be feeling much better but my other two sound like they need to lay off the cigarettes. It's terrible. And as if dealing with sick kids isn't hard enough, our AC went out so our home is nice and toasty. It wouldn't be so bad except the kids are running fevers too and trying to keep them comfortable is a task. Praying and hoping our babies get better quick.
Monday:
Cough, cough. Sneeze. Cry. Cough, cough. Cry. This was the sound that we woke up to this morning at 5am. My poor buddy seems the worst of all but Eva is not too far behind. Skylar still seems to feel better but has a nasty cough as well. So after daddy went skipping out the door (he's relieved to not have to deal with this), mama anxiously waited for the doctors office to open. We were able to get in somewhat early and as suspected each of them have a double ear infection with Bryce taking the cake on having the worst. Flu and strep cultures were negative but to hear that Brycen's infection is so bad that there's pus lying behind his ear drum?? So sad! The doctor said that Skylar's ear infection was mild and Brycen's is severe but that Eva was not too far behind Bryce. That makes me wanna cry. With Bryce we kind of expected this news because he's been SO miserable and SO fussy but Eva? Aside from her cough, she never really cried or got fussy. And to know that she's been in terrible pain now for a few days? Heart breaking. But we got the good (i.e. 'expensive') stuff so I'm looking forward to each of them feeling better. We also found out that Sklyar is 38lbs, Bryce is 36lbs, and Eebah is 17 1/2lbs. At the end of May, Eva will have her well check and Skylar and Bryce will have one in June so I'm looking forward to seeing their stats but for now, they're all healthy (outside of these darn ears) and growing. We also took a pic for daddy while we were there to let him know we made it...
Love these kids! My little monkeys. SO after leaving the doctors office and getting the prescriptions, we headed home for a nap. Bryce fell asleep in the car which usually means no bueno on a nap at home but poor bud is feeling so rough that he went right to bed. He didn't nap as long as his sisters but that's okay because it meant we got to spend time together playing, paying bills, and having snacks.
So this is a photo of our very last payment being sent to Toyota. Bryce is pretty excited about it! I'm over the moon about it!!! We paid off my van in less then two years...whooot!!! So now to start working on paying off daddy's truck...that one's gonna take a while! I'm happy that today has finally come to a close and now have daddy's help with our sick babes. Tomorrow is the start of teacher appreciation week at school and I'm looking forward to working on some cute stuff with Skylar. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep Bryce home with me tomorrow to ensure he can rest and begin is road to recovery. It's just an ear infection but that cough of his is so scary that I wanna keep him close to me and close to the nebulizer. Till tomorrow...
