Just when you think it's over...then bam! All kiddos go down at once. First thing this morning was Skylar waking up with a stomach ache. And this was no normal stomach ache. She was literally screaming and crying in pain. It was torture on Matthew and I because we didn't know what to do. We first tried getting her to use the restroom but that didn't work. He gave her some childrens tums and that didn't seem to be doing anything either. Finally, I went back to the old school of sprite and crackers and within an hour she seemed to be feeling much better. Eva woke up with a terrible cough and seemed to be having a difficult time breathing which was just heart wrenching. So before feeding her (since she wasn't going to be able to breathe anyway), we busted out the nebulizer. Since she's so little still we are only using saline and prayed it would clear out the gunk...
By lunch time she made no improvements and sounded much worse so it was time to put a call in to the doctor. The on call doctor said to continue what we were doing and that if her breathing became labored then take her to the ER but use it as an absolute last resort to reduce exposure. At this same time, Skylar was extremely irritable and couldn't rationalize for anything. I asked if she wanted me to go lay down with her and she said yes. The minute I crawled next to her, I could feel the heat just radiating off of her. Then when she said mama, I'm cold (she was wearing jeans and a hoodie) and my tummy hurts - I thought, uh oh. She was asleep in about 2 minutes...
Again, I prayed that she get the rests she needs and wakes up feeling better. I left her room, went to check on Eva again and found her making the biggest pouty face ever. Sibling rivalry starts. It's like she knew I was cuddling her sister and not her...
Oh these girls. So where's Bryce in all of this mess you ask? Coughing up a lung in the back room. He's got a terrible cough but it doesn't slow him down at all. He's still acting his normal self only if he gets too active, his coughing gets worse so I'm certain we'll be using the nebulizer on him soon too. Skylar ended up sleeping for 4 hours!!!! 4!! That never happens. When she got up, she looked so much better. Her color was back and she was happy and singing again. The first thing she asked, only half-awake, was if we were still going to get her nails painted. Soooo off we went, just the 2 of us. Bryce stayed home with daddy and Eva got some one-on-one time with the g-rents. They come to my rescue often. It was so nice having time with just Skylar and she was busy either talking to everyone that worked there or taking pics....

I had a really great time with her and I'm so relieved she's feeling better. My sweet, soon to be 5 year old!
Now off to get the rest of the house on the mend...fingers crossed.
