Day 63 AND 64 (Strawberry Milk-Cakes and Kite-Flying)

This week has already been off to a very busy start and naturally, I'm falling behind. For starters, Skylar's cough is now much better but now my little Brycie is sick again! So back to the doctor we go because I really don't want him getting another ear infection. While the weather has been gorgeous most days, the pollen and mold count is through the roof! Because I am so adamant about my kids staying healthy, I've even had an AC guy come out to look at our unit and let us know his opinion on blowing out the ducts. Well his opinion was he wouldn't advise it because there's a great likelihood that you can cause damage to the ducts by doing so. And considering that Matthew and I have had a huge house-itch, we don't want to invest anymore money into a home that we will most likely be selling soon. So in the meantime, I just need to deal with these seasonal allergies and hope that we can have more then one week of no gunk. With Bryce feeling kind of yuck again, we all stayed home and did some stuff around the house. We did make a quick trip to Lowes to purchase some pretty flowers. I also bought the kids their very own watering cans so they can help feed mama's plants. This is a job that Bryce LOVES!!! He loves to flood each plant of mine and then say "more mama? more?" Once daddy got home we played a bit and then it was off to bed. But not before daddy had "strawberry milk-cakes" with them. You know those carnation instant breakfast thinys? Well, he'll make those for them on occasion because they are packed full of vitamins (and sugar!). So last night as they were gulping them down, Skylar says "mmm. I loooove strawberry milk-cakes" and Matthew and I died. Little cutie.

So Tuesday morning Bryce was feeling better and that cough seemed to be going away, so I decided to let him go to school. He really wanted to go. Especially since Skylar was going too. So I took them both to school, came home to get daddy and take him to his appointment, and then went to my restore class. It was so nice to be back working out since I haven't really done anything since the half. And since this type of class has childcare, it's really like my own time without chasing a toddler or nursing an infant. After restore was done, and I found my inner chi, I had to go pick daddy up from his eye-doctor. Great news! Before surgery his vision was 20/400 ( cue song: "blinded by the light") but now, he's 20/20 (am I the only one that hears Barbara Walters each time I say twenty-twenty?)! Isn't that cool? He no longer needs to squint or go on a mad-hunt trying to find where Bryce hid his glasses. I'm so happy for him. After picking him up, we headed to the mall to buy some Easter stuff because I didn't want to do what I do every year - which is wait until last minute - and then we headed to lunch. Note to self: do NOT go to The Woodlands Mall area post-workout unless you intend to have every Bob and Harry staring at you with disgust. Could it all be in my head? Maybe. But this is The Woodlands and I swear people were looking at me like I was homeless. Probably didn't help my cause much when I decided to change Eva-cakes in the booth with me just as our waiter was dropping off our bill. Don't judge me! The ladies restroom was gross and Eva just had a little wet diaper so in my head I was going to rip the wet off, slap the dry on and tada - done. What I didn't expect was how small this booth was and that her blanket would cause her to slip around everywhere so she's completely spread eagle, revealing all of herself to every person walking by. And of course - what was a once quiet section in the back was now suddenly a circus parade with just about every person passing by. I'm pretty sure daddy turned a new shade of red and was ready to high-tail it out of there. So yes, I'm the hillbilly in the back - dressed like a homeless person - changing my baby right at the table! Nice to meet you. Sigh.

Once we made our little scene there, daddy was very ready to come home. We were only home for a brief moment before it was already time to head out and get the kiddos. We also had a big surprise for them when they got out. After wrestling Bryce into his carseat, getting Skylar to finally take a breath between sentences, daddy told them that we get to go fly their new kites!!! He bought these HUGE kites a couple of weeks ago and today was the perfect day to fly them. We decided to only bring one kite and thank God for that, because daddy was having a difficult enough time trying to control this bad boy. And I was busy trying to calm chubba since she was NOT a fan of the wind. Here's some pics of our fun afternoon!!

We definitely succeeded in wearing our kids out. They usually want to do books and have each of us cuddle with them separately, then ask for water, to go potty etc. Not tonight. Tonight they barely made it to their beds and they were ouuuuut. Even little presh had a rough day...
My little tummy-sleeper. Now it's off to bed for mama too! Till tomorrow...or the next day ;)
