So after a loooooong day of organizing and cleaning out the garage, we decided to take the kiddos to the Montgomery County Fair. I didn't realize this was where we were going since my husband said we were attending some work thing. It wasn't until we were on the road that he said "will you look up the address to the Montgomery County Fair." Uh, hello?! His "work" thing was the cook off. In his defense, he's somehow never heard of this fair before (despite it being a HUGE deal) and thus the lack of preparedness on my part. What I mean by that is that I didn't pack any coats or blankets, we only had our single stroller, and had I known earlier that it was the fair - I would've brought them out earlier then 5:00pm. But it was still fun. They had cotton candy, fried oreos, fried pickles, and rode every ride imaginable. I also had to ride a few since Bryce was still too short to go unattended but I didn't mind much. It's like being a kid all over again. However, when they get taller and are able to ride the scary, twirly, fast ones?! They're on their own! Here's some fun pics...
One of my favorite moments was when they went on their very first pony ride and Skylar yelled out "thanks for letting me ride this, daddy!" And then Bubba yelled out "hee-haw!" I love LOVE them! Eva was a doll, of course and never cried or got fussy at all. The only issue we had was getting her to keep her blanket on those chubba legs. It was getting a bit cold as the night went on and she was determined to NOT wear her blanket. In no time at all she'll be right there next to her brother and her sister, having the time of her life.
We were able to run into one of Matthew's coworkers just briefly because the kids were getting tired and I was anxious to get out of there since it was clearly the party atmosphere now. I think Skylar had a little crush on him and insisted on holding his hand the entire time. Normally that would make me uncomfortable thinking that she's making someone else uncomfortable but he really embraced it, which was sweet. After making the 10 mile trek back to the car, we loaded up and headed home. We are all pretty beat and this mama still has that darn garage project to finish so nighty-night!
